UPSC 2025 Toppers Share Success Stories at Historic Guidance Programme Organised by Rajnandgaon District Administration
Inspirational Event Encourages Youth to Pursue Civil Services with Determination, Discipline and Resilience

Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh addressed aspiring civil servants at a guidance programme featuring successful candidates of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025. The event, organised by the Rajnandgaon district administration at the Padma Shri Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium, brought together UPSC achievers, administrators, students and parents in what was described as a landmark initiative aimed at guiding the youth towards public service careers.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Raman Singh emphasized that success in the UPSC examination requires determination, patience and a strong mindset. He encouraged students to write their goal of becoming an IAS officer on the walls of their study rooms so that the vision remains constantly visible and reinforces their commitment every day.
Congratulating the successful candidates, he said they had become role models through hard work and perseverance. Referring to UPSC 2025 qualifier Sanjay Dahariya, who cleared the examination despite battling cancer, Dr. Singh described his achievement as a remarkable example of courage and unwavering determination.

He urged students to treat failures as challenges rather than setbacks and continue moving forward with renewed preparation. Citing examples of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, author J.K. Rowling and inventor Thomas Edison, he highlighted how perseverance after failure often leads to extraordinary success.
Focus, Determination and Positive Thinking Essential: IG Balaji Rao
Inspector General of Police Balaji Rao advised students to remain focused while preparing for one of the country’s most competitive examinations. He noted that success is built on the support of parents, teachers and friends, while strong willpower and determination help candidates navigate uncertainty and emerge as responsible decision-makers. He encouraged aspirants to maintain a positive outlook throughout their preparation journey.
Pursue Your Dreams with Passion: Collector Jitendra Yadav
Collector Jitendra Yadav said the programme was designed to address the queries of UPSC aspirants and provide direct guidance from successful candidates. He described the UPSC examination as a unique and rewarding journey and urged students to prepare with dedication and the right strategy.
He stressed that hard work alone is not enough and must be accompanied by proper planning and a positive mindset. According to him, even candidates from rural backgrounds with limited resources have achieved remarkable success through perseverance and disciplined preparation.
Success Stories Inspire Aspirants
Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma shared her personal motivation behind pursuing the Indian Police Service, saying that true warriors are those who succeed despite adversity. She recalled her desire to make her father proud and her determination to become an IPS officer.
Divisional Forest Officer Ayush Jain spoke about his journey toward the Indian Forest Service, crediting his father’s encouragement and emphasizing the importance of sustained hard work throughout the process.
UPSC Toppers Share Strategies for Success
UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 topper Anuj Agnihotri, who joined the programme via video conferencing, said he succeeded in his third attempt after years of dedicated preparation. He advised aspirants to have clarity about their purpose for joining the civil services and stressed the importance of hard work, discipline, self-confidence and integrity.
Fourth-rank holder Raghav Jhunjhunwala encouraged students to choose discipline over temporary motivation. He highlighted the importance of continuous self-improvement and career honesty while explaining how his experience working in financial inclusion programmes strengthened his interest in public service.
Nineteenth-rank holder Dishant Nisar emphasized the need for clarity of thought, self-assessment and strategic preparation. He cautioned students against becoming overwhelmed by excessive online content and advised them to rely on selected standard books rather than depending entirely on artificial intelligence tools for preparation.

Vaibhavi Agrawal, who secured the 35th rank, highlighted the importance of maintaining a disciplined daily routine, regular revision, morning walks for mental well-being and consistent effort. She also encouraged aspirants to enjoy the learning process and make their own study notes.
Sushmita Singh, who achieved the 32nd rank, stressed the value of current affairs, newspaper reading, previous years’ question papers and mock tests. She advised candidates to continuously evaluate their preparation and maintain the same level of enthusiasm throughout the journey.
Darshana Singh Baghel, an IIT Kanpur graduate, advised aspirants to prepare through structured short-term and long-term planning. She encouraged students to maintain hobbies, reduce stress and remain focused on their larger purpose behind joining the civil services.
Courage Beyond Adversity
Among the most inspiring speakers was Sanjay Dahariya, who secured Rank 946 despite battling cancer. Sharing his personal journey, he said overcoming challenges internally is the first step toward conquering them externally. He urged aspirants not to lose hope after setbacks and to continue pursuing their dreams with determination.
Ajay Gupta of Raigarh, who secured Rank 452, said competitive examinations assess not only knowledge but also analytical ability, logical thinking, decision-making skills and problem-solving capabilities. He encouraged students from rural backgrounds to dream big and remain committed to lifelong learning.
Dongargarh SDM M. Bhargav concluded by reminding students that setbacks are opportunities to learn. He emphasized the importance of exposure, confidence and broadening one’s horizons by engaging with new people and environments. According to him, success comes to those who think big, remove mental barriers and move toward their goals with complete dedication.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students and young aspirants received guidance directly from successful candidates and senior officials, making the event a valuable platform for future civil servants.
