Door-to-door vaccination drive to cover left-out children on June 29 and 30; Transit and mobile teams deployed across urban and rural areas

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav formally launched the Intensified Pulse Polio Campaign 2026 in Rajnandgaon, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible child receives protection against polio.
The inaugural programme was attended by Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat Suruchi Singh, Councillor Kamlesh Bandhe, Councillor Manohar Yadav, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Netaram Navratan, District Immunisation Officer Dr. B.L. Tulavi, Medical Officer Dr. Shailesh Joshi, State Consultant Sahil Masih, In-charge District Programme Manager Vikas Rathore, District RMNCHA Consultant Dr. Sneha Jain, District Urban Programme Manager Pooja Meshram, and other officials.

Door-to-Door Campaign to Cover Every Eligible Child
The Chief Medical and Health Officer and the District Immunisation Officer informed that, in addition to vaccination booths established in villages and urban areas, special polio booths had also been set up at bus stands and railway stations.
To ensure that no child is left out, transit teams and mobile teams have been deployed to cover mines, brick kilns, hostels, madrasas, and other difficult-to-reach or previously uncovered locations.
Following the first day’s vaccination drive at designated booths, health workers will conduct door-to-door visits on June 29 and 30, 2026, to administer oral polio vaccine to children who could not be covered during the initial phase of the campaign.

Campaign Progress Reviewed Through Video Conference
After the completion of the first day’s activities, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Netaram Navratan reviewed the campaign through an evening video conference with all Block Medical Officers, Urban Programme Managers, Sector Supervisors, Block Programme Managers (BPMs) and Block Extension Training Officers (BETOs).
The review focused on the campaign’s implementation and progress, with necessary discussions held to ensure effective coverage during the remaining days.
District Control Room Monitoring Campaign
A district-level Control Room has been activated to monitor the campaign continuously. Vaccination data is being compiled every two hours, while office staff and urban supervisors have made a significant contribution to data collection and the preparation of evening reports.
Dr. Netaram Navratan directed all field-level health workers to conduct intensive household visits and ensure that every child who was missed during the booth phase receives the oral polio vaccine.
