Special Awareness Programme Held at District Jail

The campaign concluded with a special awareness programme at Raigarh District Jail, where inmates were encouraged to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle by staying away from substance abuse.

The programme also featured musical and cultural performances, which effectively conveyed the message of de-addiction and received appreciation from the participants.

Collective Efforts Essential for a Drug-Free Society

Addressing the programme, the Deputy Director, Social Welfare, Raigarh, said that substance abuse is one of the biggest obstacles to an individual’s potential, family well-being and societal progress. The department appealed to citizens to stay away from intoxicating substances themselves and motivate their family members and friends to embrace a drug-free lifestyle.

The programme was attended by District Jail Superintendent G.S. Soni, Social Welfare Department officials and staff, De-addiction Centre Manager Sumant Acharya, Ranjana Yadav, Kuber Charan Chauhan, Music Instructor at the Siyan Gudi Day Care Centre, officials and staff of the jail administration, and a large number of inmates.
