Major Infrastructure, Water Resources, Urban Development and Rural Projects Receive Boost at Progressive Farmers’ Conference

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh Joins Event as Hundreds of Crores Worth of Development Works Are Dedicated to the Public

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 333 development projects worth ₹510.89 crore during the Progressive Farmers’ Conference held at the State High School Ground in Rajnandgaon. The event was attended by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh as the chief guest.

The Chief Minister dedicated completed projects worth ₹194 crore and initiated new development works worth ₹316.88 crore, covering a wide range of sectors including water resources, public works, urban infrastructure, drinking water supply and rural development.

Of the total 333 projects, 107 works worth approximately ₹194 crore were inaugurated, while foundation stones were laid for 226 projects valued at ₹316.88 crore.

Water Resources Projects Receive Major Investment

Under the Water Resources Department, Rajnandgaon, development works worth ₹221.57 crore were inaugurated and launched. These included the inauguration of 13 projects worth ₹81.50 crore and the foundation laying of three projects worth ₹140.06 crore.

Additionally, under the Water Resources Barrage Division, Dongargaon, three completed projects worth ₹45.78 crore were dedicated to the public.

Public Works and Bridge Infrastructure Strengthened

The Public Works Department (PWD), Rajnandgaon, witnessed the foundation laying of 16 projects worth ₹96.67 crore aimed at improving regional connectivity and infrastructure.

Under the PWD Bridge Construction Sub-Division, development works worth ₹73.86 crore were inaugurated and launched. These included the inauguration of eight projects valued at ₹28.85 crore and foundation laying for seven projects worth ₹45.01 crore.

Drinking Water and Urban Infrastructure Projects

The Public Health Engineering Division, Rajnandgaon, carried out inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies for 28 projects worth ₹16.47 crore. Of these, 19 completed projects worth ₹15.57 crore were inaugurated, while nine projects worth ₹90.59 lakh entered the construction phase.

The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation received a significant infrastructure boost with projects worth ₹154.10 crore. This included the inauguration of six projects worth ₹93.05 crore and foundation laying for four projects valued at ₹61.05 crore.

Rural Development Projects Across Janpad Panchayats

Under Janpad Panchayat Dongargaon, 24 development works worth ₹11.33 crore were inaugurated and launched. These comprised four completed projects worth ₹26.92 lakh and 20 new projects worth ₹10.06 crore.

In Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon, foundation stones were laid for 123 development projects worth ₹13.10 crore.

Similarly, under Janpad Panchayat Dongargarh, 98 projects worth ₹42.28 crore were inaugurated and launched. These included 54 completed works worth ₹28.76 crore and 44 new projects valued at ₹13.52 crore.

Large Gathering of Public Representatives and Officials

The programme was attended by District In-charge Minister Gajendra Yadav, Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, District Panchayat Chairperson Kiran Vaishnav, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma, District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Sachin Baghel, Chhattisgarh Labour Welfare Board Chairman Yogesh Datt Mishra, Janpad Panchayat Chairperson Pratima Chandrakar, and several other elected representatives and dignitaries.

Senior administrative officials present included Divisional Commissioner Satyanarayan Rathore, Inspector General of Police Balaji Rao, Collector Jitendra Yadav, Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, Divisional Forest Officer Ayush Jain, District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh, along with other officers, employees, farmers and a large number of citizens.

The event marked one of the largest development initiatives in the district, reinforcing the state government’s focus on strengthening infrastructure, water management, urban services and rural development while accelerating economic growth and public welfare across Rajnandgaon.
