Green Farm House Theft Case Solved, Two Accused Arrested in Rajnandgaon

Somni Police and Cyber Cell Recover Property and Vehicle Worth ₹10.56 Lakh

Somni Police, in a joint operation with the Cyber Cell, have solved a theft case reported at the Seeds of Green Farm House in Devada village and arrested two accused. Both accused were produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.

Police recovered several stolen items, including AC outdoor units and an HTP pump, along with the vehicle allegedly used in the crime. The total estimated value of the recovered property and vehicle is around ₹10.56 lakh.

Farm House Targeted During Night

According to police, the theft took place between 11 pm on August 20 and 7:30 am on August 21. Unknown thieves allegedly broke the lock of the main gate of the Seeds of Green Farm House in Devada village and entered the premises.

The thieves reportedly escaped with 10 AC outdoor units, three submersible pumps, a water pump, an HP pump, an HTP pump, CCTV cameras, a Bluetooth sound box and other items.

Following the complaint, Somni Police registered a case under Crime No. 164/26 under Sections 305(A) and 331(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation.

Technical Evidence Leads Police to Suspects

Considering the seriousness of the case, a joint team of Somni Police and the Cyber Cell was constituted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore and supervision by City Superintendents of Police Vaishali Jain and K.P. Markam.

During the investigation, police examined technical evidence collected from the crime scene and surrounding areas. Information received from sources also helped investigators identify the suspects.

Police subsequently detained Vijay Sonwani, 26, a resident of Dhirri Abadipara under Somni Police Station, and Nageshwar Prasad Sahu, 29, a resident of Khallari village under Gunderdehi Police Station in Balod district.

During questioning, both accused allegedly confessed to carrying out the theft along with another accomplice.

Stolen AC Units and HTP Pump Recovered

Police recovered eight Voltas AC outdoor units, one Godrej AC and one Kisan Crop HTP pump from the accused.

The vehicle allegedly used during the crime, bearing registration number CG 07 CK 3327, was also seized.

The two accused were arrested and presented before the court, which sent them to judicial custody. Police said the search for another accused who remains absconding is continuing. Efforts are also underway to recover the remaining stolen property.

Police Appeal to Citizens

Somni Police have appealed to residents to keep CCTV cameras installed at their homes, establishments, farm houses and other properties operational and to take necessary security precautions.

Police have also urged citizens to immediately inform the authorities about the illegal sale of liquor, narcotic substances or any other suspicious activity in the area.

The police said that timely information from citizens can play an important role in preventing crimes and assisting investigations.
