Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Organizes Grand Roadshow in Bhubaneswar

The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), successfully organized a grand Chhattisgarh Tourism Roadshow at the Mayfair Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar.

The event highlighted Chhattisgarh’s rich tribal culture, ancient archaeological heritage, spiritual destinations, scenic waterfalls, dense forests, wildlife sanctuaries, folk arts and vibrant cultural traditions through engaging presentations and exhibits. Information regarding tourism investments, emerging tourism products and potential business opportunities was also shared with participants.

Focus on Strengthening Tourism Cooperation

The roadshow witnessed the participation of leading tourism stakeholders, tour operators, hotel owners, travel agents, media representatives and senior officials from both Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

The primary objective of the event was to showcase Chhattisgarh’s tourism potential on a national platform and strengthen tourism cooperation between the two neighboring states.

Invitation to Explore Chhattisgarh

Addressing the gathering, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma invited tour operators, travel agents and hospitality professionals from Odisha to visit Chhattisgarh’s tourist destinations and encourage tourist groups to explore the state.

He emphasized that tourism development cannot be achieved solely through government initiatives and requires active collaboration among the private sector, tourism industry stakeholders and state governments. Sharma stressed the importance of promoting joint tourism activities and events between Odisha and Chhattisgarh to accelerate regional tourism growth and strengthen cultural and economic ties.

State Government Promoting Sustainable Tourism

Tourism Secretary S. Bharati Dasan stated that the Chhattisgarh Government is continuously working to promote sustainable and experience-based tourism.

He noted that Chhattisgarh is among the few states in India where visitors can enjoy a unique blend of natural beauty, tribal lifestyles, spiritual destinations and adventure tourism experiences.

Dasan informed participants that the state has been actively promoting its tourist destinations through multiple channels and has already established tourism information centers in major cities, including New Delhi, Kolkata, Vadodara and Bhopal.

He further revealed that efforts are underway to establish a dedicated Chhattisgarh Tourism Office in Odisha, which will provide greater convenience to tourists and tourism industry stakeholders.

Tourism Infrastructure Development in Focus

Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Vivek Acharya highlighted the board’s ongoing efforts to strengthen tourism infrastructure, enhance visitor experiences and position Chhattisgarh as one of India’s emerging tourism destinations.

He invited travel trade partners from Odisha to actively participate in promoting Chhattisgarh’s theme-based tourism circuits and unique travel experiences. According to him, greater cooperation between the two states will create new opportunities for the tourism sector and contribute to local economic development.

Cultural Performances and B2B Sessions Draw Attention

The event began with colorful cultural performances showcasing the rich traditions and folk heritage of Chhattisgarh.

This was followed by an extensive roadshow presentation focusing on the state’s major tourist destinations, investment prospects and innovative tourism products.

A dedicated Business-to-Business (B2B) networking session provided a platform for meaningful interaction between Odisha-based tour operators and tourism stakeholders from Chhattisgarh. Discussions centered on potential joint tourism packages, business partnerships and collaborative promotional initiatives.
