The four-day Familiarisation (FAM) Trip organised by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board for a delegation of the Global Association of Events and Hospitality Professionals (GAEHP) concluded successfully at Maira Resort in Raipur on Saturday.
Held from July 14 to 17, the special study tour aimed to provide tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) professionals with first-hand exposure to the major tourism destinations, natural heritage, cultural traditions and emerging tourism infrastructure of North and South Chhattisgarh.
The FAM Trip was organised jointly by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board and GAEHP.
Chhattisgarh Emerging as a Major Tourism Destination: Neelu Sharma
Addressing the delegation at the concluding programme, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma said the state is rapidly emerging as one of India’s promising tourism destinations due to its natural beauty, rich tribal culture, modern facilities and safe tourism environment.

He expressed confidence that the participants would help promote Chhattisgarh’s tourism destinations across the country and attract more tourists as well as corporate events to the state.
Presentation on MICE Tourism Opportunities
Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Managing Director Vivek Acharya was also present at the programme. He delivered a detailed presentation on the potential of MICE tourism in the state.
The presentation covered conference facilities, hotel infrastructure, natural and heritage destinations, corporate event opportunities and tourism facilities being developed by the Tourism Board in Raipur and other cities of Chhattisgarh.
Acharya said the Tourism Board aims to establish Chhattisgarh among India’s leading MICE tourism destinations. The state is focusing on partnerships with the tourism, hospitality and corporate sectors to achieve this goal.
Delegation Explores Natural and Tribal Heritage
During the four-day FAM Trip, the delegation visited several major tourism destinations across North and South Chhattisgarh. Participants experienced the state’s natural beauty, tribal culture, local traditions and diverse tourism offerings.

The delegates appreciated Chhattisgarh’s tourism products, hospitality services and tourism potential. They also assured the Tourism Board that they would help promote the state effectively in national and international tourism markets.
FAM Trips to Strengthen Tourism and Hospitality Sector
The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board believes that such FAM Trips will provide fresh momentum to the state’s tourism industry. They are expected to promote investment, business opportunities and national-level partnerships in the tourism, hospitality and MICE sectors.
The first-hand experience gained by tourism professionals during the visit is expected to contribute to Chhattisgarh’s emergence as a leading destination for leisure tourism, corporate events and MICE activities.
