Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has hailed Bastar as India's next iconic tourism destination, stating, "If you haven't seen Bastar, you haven't seen India." Highlighting the region's breathtaking natural beauty, rich tribal heritage, and remarkable transformation from a conflict-affected area to a thriving tourism hub, he said Bastar is poised to become one of the country's most sought-after travel destinations under the Centre's vision of developing 50 new iconic tourist sites.

The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, in collaboration with FICCI, organized a grand tourism roadshow at the Mayfair Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar, showcasing the state's rich tribal heritage, cultural diversity, natural attractions and tourism investment opportunities. The event attracted significant interest from tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and tourism stakeholders, paving the way for stronger tourism cooperation between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Often called Chhattisgarh’s Shimla, Mainpat is poised for a major tourism transformation as the state government allots 4.80 hectares of land to the Chhattisgarh Housing Board for a fully equipped residential and tourism complex. The project aims to enhance visitor facilities, promote wellness tourism, and strengthen the local economy.
