Community President Haji Rais Ahmed says Gyaneshwari’s achievement is an inspiration for daughters across the country

Commonwealth Games silver medallist Gyaneshwari Yadav, who brought laurels to India, Chhattisgarh and Rajnandgaon with her weightlifting performance in Scotland, was felicitated by various social organisations during a grand civic reception organised by the Municipal Corporation and Jai Bhawani Vyayamshala at the city auditorium on Tuesday.

On the occasion, the Muslim community also honoured the athlete in recognition of her historic achievement.

According to Syed Afzal Ali, Media In-charge of the Muslim community, a delegation led by Haji Rais Ahmed, President of the Muslim community, presented Gyaneshwari Yadav with a bouquet and a ceremonial honour, congratulating her on winning the silver medal. The community stated that through her hard work, discipline and dedication, Gyaneshwari had raised India’s tricolour on the international stage, bringing pride to the entire district.

Addressing the gathering, Haji Rais Ahmed said that Gyaneshwari Yadav’s achievement represents not only the success of an athlete but also serves as an inspiration for daughters across the country. He expressed confidence that she would continue to excel in future international competitions and bring further glory to India by winning a gold medal.

Members of the Muslim community, including Shakeel, Anjum Alvi (Neelu), Advocate Mohammad Siraj, Ashrafi, Mazhar Khan, Mohammad Ghaffar, Mohammad Ibrahim (Munna Bhai) and Arshad Khan, were present at the ceremony and extended their best wishes for Gyaneshwari Yadav’s bright future.

The event was also attended by representatives of the district administration, public representatives, social organisations and sports enthusiasts. Collector, Inspector General of Police (IG), Superintendent of Police (SP), Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, former Mayor Hema Sudesh Deshmukh, and several other dignitaries felicitated Gyaneshwari Yadav and described her achievement as a matter of pride for Rajnandgaon.

Haji Rais Ahmed Recognised for Social Service

The programme highlighted the long-standing social service initiatives of Haji Rais Ahmed, who has been actively involved in public welfare and assistance to people in need.
