Following complaints of inadequate water supply in the Lakholi-Kanchan Bagh area, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, accompanied by Municipal Commissioner G.R. Markam and technical officials, inspected the affected areas and the Kanchan Bagh water tank on Wednesday morning. He also held discussions with the concerned ward councillors to assess the situation.
The 13.50 lakh-litre-capacity water tank at Kanchan Bagh has reportedly been receiving less water over the past few days. As a result, residents of Wards 30, 31 and 32 have been facing water supply for shorter durations and at low pressure.
The issue was brought to the Mayor’s attention by the respective ward councillors Girija Santosh Nirmalkar, Chandrashekhar Laskare and Reena Sinha. Taking the complaints seriously, Mayor Yadav visited the tank and sought details from the officials.
Instructions to Ensure Full Tank Filling and Water Tanker Supply
During the inspection, the Mayor directed officials to begin water distribution only after the tank is completely filled. He instructed the concerned valve operators to pay special attention to this process and immediately inform the responsible officers if any problem arises.
He also directed the Municipal Corporation to ensure water supply through tankers in the affected areas until the situation improves.
Separate Rising Pipeline Work Underway
Mayor Yadav said that because of the large capacity of the Kanchan Bagh tank, water supply is currently not possible during both morning and evening hours.
To address the issue, work on laying a separate rising pipeline for the tank is underway. He assured residents that evening water supply would also begin by January 2027. He appealed to citizens to cooperate until the arrangements are completed.
