Mayor Madhusudan Yadav inspected the Kanchan Bagh water tank after low-pressure water supply complaints from Wards 30, 31 and 32 in Rajnandgaon. Tanker supply has been directed until conditions improve, while a separate rising pipeline is expected to enable evening water supply by January 2027.

Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation will organise PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana camps across residential colonies from August 21 to September 1. The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation has issued separate notices to the operator and supplier of the Mohara Water Treatment Plant following a chlorine gas turner leak at its 17 MLD filtration unit. Both agencies have been asked to explain the incident within 24 hours, failing which action will be initiated under applicable contractual and procurement provisions.

G.R. Markam has assumed charge as the new Commissioner of the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation. A 2014-batch Chhattisgarh State Administrative Service officer, he previously served as Additional Collector of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki and has earlier held the posts of Tehsildar in Rajnandgaon and SDM in Dongargarh.
