Gyaneshwari Yadav, the Rajnandgaon weightlifter who won a silver medal in weightlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, was warmly welcomed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in Raipur. The Chief Minister congratulated her on the historic achievement and extended his best wishes.

Congratulating the athlete, the Chief Minister said that Gyaneshwari Yadav’s success is a moment of pride for the entire state of Chhattisgarh. He said her dedication, discipline and perseverance have become an inspiration for lakhs of young people across the state.

Gyaneshwari Yadav is arriving in her hometown, Rajnandgaon, today, where an enthusiastic welcome has been planned. A grand civic felicitation will be organised tomorrow by the Sarv Yadav Samaj, with office-bearers of the community, eminent citizens and a large number of sports enthusiasts expected to participate.

Congratulating Gyaneshwari Yadav on her achievement, Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, Chhattisgarh Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Neelu Sharma, Rana Agrawal, along with several public representatives, social organisations and members of the Sarv Yadav Samaj, extended their best wishes for her bright future.

Gyaneshwari Yadav’s achievement has demonstrated that talent and hard work can lead to success even on the world’s biggest sporting stages. The state now looks forward to her participation in future international competitions with hopes of a gold medal.
