Rajnandgaon weightlifter honoured in Raipur after winning silver at the 2026 Commonwealth Games; civic felicitation to be held on her hometown arrival

Gyaneshwari Yadav, the Rajnandgaon weightlifter who won a silver medal in weightlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, was warmly welcomed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in Raipur. The Chief Minister congratulated her on the historic achievement and extended his best wishes.
Congratulating the athlete, the Chief Minister said that Gyaneshwari Yadav’s success is a moment of pride for the entire state of Chhattisgarh. He said her dedication, discipline and perseverance have become an inspiration for lakhs of young people across the state.
Gyaneshwari Yadav is arriving in her hometown, Rajnandgaon, today, where an enthusiastic welcome has been planned. A grand civic felicitation will be organised tomorrow by the Sarv Yadav Samaj, with office-bearers of the community, eminent citizens and a large number of sports enthusiasts expected to participate.
