Rajnandgaon Farmers to Receive Up to ₹3,711 Per Quintal for Paddy Seed Production; Registration Open Till August 15

Seed production programme offers higher procurement prices, additional incentives and timely payments to boost farmers’ income

The Process Centre of the Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agricultural Development Corporation Limited in Rajnandgaon has launched a special campaign to enrol farmers in the Kharif 2026 seed production programme. Farmers participating in the programme will receive higher procurement prices than those available for normal produce, along with timely payments, contributing to a significant increase in their income.

For Kharif 2026, the State Headquarters has assigned the Rajnandgaon Process Centre a seed production target covering 705.16 hectares. The target includes 636.16 hectares of paddy, 45 hectares of pigeon pea (arhar), 10 hectares of black gram (urad), 5 hectares of green gram (moong), 2 hectares of soybean, and 7 hectares of sunn hemp (san).

So far, 100 hectares of paddy cultivation have been registered under the programme. The Seed Certification Agency, Raipur, has fixed August 15, 2026, as the last date for seed production registration. Interested farmers have been urged to complete their registration within the prescribed timeline.

To encourage participation, farmers will receive an additional incentive of ₹500 per quintal for cereal crops and ₹1,000 per quintal for pulses and oilseed crops.

  • Paddy (Coarse): ₹3,550 per quintal
  • Paddy (Fine): ₹3,711 per quintal
  • Aromatic Paddy: ₹4,721 per quintal
  • Kodo, Ragi and Kutki: ₹5,761 per quintal
  • Soybean: ₹8,033 per quintal
  • Black Gram (Urad): ₹10,050 to ₹11,000 per quintal
  • Green Gram (Moong): ₹11,018 to ₹12,057 per quintal
  • White Sesame: ₹12,471 per quintal
  • Niger Seed (Ramtil): ₹11,392 per quintal
  • Horse Gram (Kulthi): ₹6,750 per quintal
  • Groundnut: ₹10,500 per quintal
  • Sunn Hemp (San): ₹6,000 per quintal

The corporation stated that 80 percent of the procurement value for approved seed meeting prescribed quality standards will be paid immediately to registered farmers, ensuring timely availability of financial resources.

In addition, the entire seed processing operation will be carried out in the presence of the concerned farmers. Farmers will be informed in advance and invited to the Process Centre so they can personally witness the processing of their seeds. According to the corporation, this arrangement will ensure complete transparency in its operations and further strengthen farmers’ confidence in the procurement system.

The Rajnandgaon Process Centre has appealed to farmers across the district to register for the seed production programme before August 15, 2026, and benefit from higher procurement prices, additional incentive payments, timely disbursement and a transparent seed procurement process to enhance their income.
