The City District Congress Committee has strongly objected to the alleged use of government educational institutions for promoting political agendas. Led by City District Congress President Jitendra Mudliyar, party members submitted a memorandum to the Collector, addressed to the Governor, demanding an immediate ban on political programmes in government schools and colleges.
The Congress has also demanded disciplinary action against principals who permitted such events and the dismissal of the concerned Janbhagidari Committees.
Congress Alleges Political Use of Educational Institutions
Jitendra Mudliyar alleged that the BJP was attempting to turn government schools and colleges into centres for its political activities. He claimed that programmes organised in the name of youth dialogue were being used to promote political agendas such as “Save Democracy, Remove Mobocracy.”
He also referred to earlier events, alleging that children were made to light lamps outside schools on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, examinations were cancelled to send students to political programmes, and the party was now adopting another approach through youth dialogue events.
Mudliyar said using educational institutions to promote a political party’s agenda reflected what he described as political desperation and an attitude of misusing power. He maintained that government institutions do not belong to any political party and must provide equal opportunities to students from all backgrounds and ideological perspectives.
Action Sought Against Principals and Janbhagidari Committees
Mudliyar said the matter was particularly serious because principals of the concerned institutions had allegedly granted permission for such programmes, while members of Janbhagidari Committees had also played a role.

The Congress has demanded an impartial inquiry into the matter. Mudliyar said officials who allegedly set aside rules under political pressure should not receive protection.
Through the memorandum, the Congress urged the Governor to issue clear directions for:
- An immediate ban on political programmes in government educational institutions.
- Disciplinary action against principals who granted permission for such events.
- Dismissal of the concerned Janbhagidari Committees.
- Clear instructions to prevent the use of educational campuses for political publicity in the future.
Congress Says Students’ Academic Rights Must Be Protected
Mudliyar said the Congress would not tolerate any action that undermined students’ academic rights or the dignity of educational institutions.
He asserted that schools and colleges should serve as centres for shaping the future of young people rather than platforms for political promotion. He urged the BJP to recognise the role and purpose of government educational institutions.
