Gujarat Police Team Completes Three-Week Study Tour
Under the Government of India’s flagship “Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat” initiative, a 15-member delegation of Gujarat Police undertook an extensive visit to Rajnandgaon Range from May 17 to June 6, 2026.
During the visit, the delegation observed police functioning, administrative systems, cultural heritage and tourism destinations across the region while sharing professional experiences with their counterparts in Chhattisgarh.
Felicitation Ceremony Marks Conclusion of Visit
A concluding ceremony was organized at the auditorium of the Superintendent of Police Office, where Superintendent of Police Ms. Ankita Sharma honoured the visiting police officers and personnel from Gujarat with mementos.
Addressing the gathering, she said that such exchange programmes not only strengthen national unity but also provide valuable opportunities to understand the policing systems, work culture and innovative practices adopted by different states.
Delegation Visits Key Police and Administrative Units
During their tour, the Gujarat Police delegation visited and studied the functioning of several important police and administrative units, including the Women Cell, IUCAW Unit, Home Guards Office, District Jail, Traffic Branch, Cyber Cell and Police Training Centre.
The visiting officers interacted with officials and personnel to gain insights into operational procedures, public service delivery and community-oriented policing initiatives.
Exposure to Tourism, Culture and Heritage
Apart from police establishments, the delegation also visited prominent tourist, religious, educational and cultural sites across Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Kabirdham and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki districts.
The visits enabled the participants to gain a deeper understanding of the region’s cultural diversity, historical heritage and social traditions.
Gujarat Delegation Appreciates Chhattisgarh Police
Representatives of Gujarat Police described the working style of Chhattisgarh Police as simple, accessible and people-centric. They expressed gratitude for the hospitality and cooperation extended during their stay.
The delegation members stated that they felt privileged to experience the rich folk traditions, cultural heritage and social harmony of Chhattisgarh during the exchange programme.
Strengthening Inter-State Cooperation
It is noteworthy that Gujarat and Chhattisgarh have been paired as partner states under the “Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat” programme. As part of the initiative, police personnel from both states visit each other’s jurisdictions to study policing systems, law and order management, community policing practices and cultural diversity.
Under the same programme, a 15-member police team from Rajnandgaon Range has also been deputed to various districts and cities of Gujarat for a similar study tour and exchange of experiences.
Senior Officials Present
The concluding ceremony was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore, City Superintendent of Police Manjulata Baj, Reserve Inspector Lokesh Kaser and other officials of the Police Department.
