Chief Minister Mohan Yadav kicked off the much-anticipated Madhya Pradesh Sports Festival 2025 at the Government Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School in Bhopal today, marking the beginning of a month-long celebration of sports and fitness across the state. The event, aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting physical fitness, saw thousands of students and athletes from various districts participate in a vibrant opening ceremony.

The Sports Festival, organized by the state’s Sports and Youth Welfare Department, features a wide range of competitions, including athletics, football, kabaddi, kho-kho, and traditional games like wrestling and mallakhamb. The initiative is part of the government’s broader vision to make Madhya Pradesh a hub for sports excellence and to identify promising athletes for national and international competitions.

Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav emphasized the importance of sports in building character and discipline. “Sports is not just about winning medals; it’s about shaping the future of our youth,” he said. “This festival will provide a platform for our young talents to shine and represent Madhya Pradesh on bigger stages.” He also announced plans to upgrade sports infrastructure in rural areas and provide scholarships for top performers.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, with schools and colleges from across the state sending teams to compete. Spectators cheered as young athletes showcased their skills in preliminary rounds, with standout performances in track events and team sports. The festival will continue across multiple venues in Madhya Pradesh, culminating in a grand closing ceremony where winners will be felicitated.

Local coaches and organizers expressed optimism about the event’s impact. “This is a golden opportunity for our youth to gain exposure and build confidence,” said Priya Sharma, a sports teacher from Indore. The MP Sports Festival 2025 is set to inspire a new generation of athletes while fostering a culture of health and fitness in the state.
