Location: Raipur/Rajnandgaon, India

Former MP and BJP leader from Rajnandgaon, Abhishek Singh, met promising cricketer Ms. Mahak Narwase from Rajnandgaon at his residence in Raipur today. He extended heartfelt congratulations to Mahak for her selection in the Indian Women’s Under-19 Cricket Team and for being appointed vice-captain of both the T20 and ODI teams, while wishing her a bright future.
Abhishek Singh also posted on social media, stating that he wishes her continued success in the Indian team and a bright future ahead.

Abhishek Singh’s Deep Passion for Sports

Abhishek Singh remains actively involved with young athletes in Rajnandgaon. Whether it is the local Digvijay Stadium, the International Hockey Stadium, or any small or big cricket tournament — he is often present there. He encourages players, listens to their problems, and provides necessary assistance.
His congratulations to Mahak Narwase on this major achievement is not just a message of good wishes to one player, but a symbol of his continued commitment to promoting sports.

Raman Sinh’s Historic Contribution to Sports Development

This success is the result of Mahak’s hard work, but it is also built on the strong foundation of sports infrastructure created in Chhattisgarh by Dr. Raman Singh (former Chief Minister, Rajnandgaon MLA and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly) and his family. During Dr. Raman Singh’s tenure:

  • The dilapidated Digvijay Stadium was completely renovated at a cost of approximately ₹43 crore and transformed into one of the best stadiums in the state.
  • The Rajnandgaon International Hockey Stadium (with international-standard astroturf) was constructed.
Facilities were also provided for cricket academies, badminton, wrestling, and other sports — facilities that local people had never even imagined before.
There was a time when sports activities in the cultural city of Rajnandgaon had almost come to a standstill, but during the Raman Singh government, national and international matches began to be organized regularly.
Carrying forward this legacy, Abhishek Singh says that the Raman Singh family will always stand with players and provide any help they need.

Mahak Narwase — Chhattisgarh’s Proud Daughter

Mahak Narwase, a resident of Korinbhatha (Rajnandgaon), has represented the state in U-15, U-19, U-23, and senior teams. She is currently undergoing training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Her dedication and performance have earned her a place in the Indian team.
Abhishek Singh’s gesture serves as inspiration for young athletes. People across Chhattisgarh are congratulating Mahak Narwase and eagerly awaiting her outstanding performance in the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
