Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation Mayor Madhusudan Yadav on Sunday watched the live broadcast of the 136th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular public outreach programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at his residence along with family members and neighbours.

After the conclusion of the programme, Mayor Yadav described ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as an inspiring and eagerly awaited programme, calling it an important platform of public dialogue dedicated to the unity, prosperity and holistic development of the country.

Referring to Sunday’s episode, Mayor Yadav said Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the people on the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas and paid tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives while defending the nation during the Kargil War.

He said the Prime Minister also appreciated the efforts of people working towards environmental conservation through the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and called for the initiative to reach every household and inspire greater public participation.

Mayor Yadav said the Prime Minister also placed special emphasis on promoting local and indigenous products and appealed to citizens to adopt locally made products as part of the effort to build a self-reliant India.

During the programme, Prime Minister Modi cited the example of a startup launched by women from Lakhiwala village in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh and praised their courage and determination.

Mayor Yadav said the programme also covered a range of issues, including rainfall, record agricultural production by farmers, the Census, Made-in-India aircraft, self-reliance through indigenous products and India’s efforts towards securing clean energy.

He said ‘Mann Ki Baat’ had emerged as an effective platform for highlighting the efforts of people doing commendable work in different fields across the country and inspiring citizens to undertake positive initiatives.
