Athletes from Sarvagya Rao Basketball Academy Selected in Indian School Team for Prestigious International Tournament

Six Players Selected for Indian School Team
Six basketball players who regularly train at the basketball court of Sarvagya Rao Basketball Academy, located in Rewadih, Rajnandgaon, have departed to represent the Indian School Team at the World School Basketball Championship being held in Zlatibor, Serbia.
The selected players include Anjani, Rumi Konwar, Kamya Jha, Reva Kulkarni, Himanshu Singh, and Shubham Singh from DPS Khelo India Basketball Academy, Yugantar Khelo India Academy, and Sarvagya Rao Basketball Academy.
The Indian School Team will participate in the World School Basketball Championship scheduled from June 13 to June 22, 2026, in Zlatibor, Serbia.
Matter of Pride for Rajnandgaon and Chhattisgarh
The achievement is considered a matter of pride for Delhi Public School Rajnandgaon, Yugantar Public School Rajnandgaon, Sarvagya Rao Basketball Academy, Rajnandgaon district, and the entire state of Chhattisgarh.
Another player from Chhattisgarh, Divya Rangari, has also been selected for the training camp associated with the national squad.
Strong Record at National Competitions
It is noteworthy that the Under-17 boys’ and girls’ teams of Delhi Public School Rajnandgaon won gold medals at the CBSE National Basketball Championship.
Similarly, the boys’ team of Yugantar Public School Rajnandgaon secured a gold medal in the Senior CBSE National Basketball Championship.
Based on these performances, the teams earned the opportunity to represent CBSE at the Senior and Junior National School Basketball Championships.

The DPS girls’ team went on to represent CBSE at the Junior National School Basketball Championship and won a gold medal.
Coaches and Players Receive Congratulations
Following this achievement, the selected players and their coaches, Kalva Rajeshwar Rao and Kalva Radha Rao, received congratulations from several prominent personalities associated with the institutions.
Those extending their best wishes included DPS Rajnandgaon Director Saurabh Kothari, Sunil Jain, Ramdev Rathi, Abhishek Vaishnav, Principal Mrs. Nirmala Singh, Mohan Rao, Mohan Sahu, and Yugantar Public School Rajnandgaon Director Sushil Kothari.
Additional congratulations were conveyed by Ajay Singhi, Akharaj Kotadia, School Principal Madhusudan Nair, and Sports Officer Dinesh Pratap Singh.
