Social worker praises sanitation workers’ dedication and urges Bhandara committees to honour their efforts

The city’s 10-day Ganeshotsav is known for its grandeur, drawing thousands of devotees from surrounding villages. Food distribution programmes at various Ganesh pandals, serving items such as aloo-puri and poha, often continue until late at night.

After these events, discarded dona-pattal and other waste can be seen at several locations around the pandals.

Social worker Mahendra Lunia said that while the city rests after the day’s festivities, Municipal Corporation sanitation workers work through the night to remove garbage scattered along roads and around pandals.

“By morning, the same places once again begin to look clean,” Lunia said, appreciating the efforts and dedication of the sanitation workers.

He congratulated the Municipal Corporation sanitation team, Mayor and Commissioner for their efforts in maintaining cleanliness during the festival.

Appeal to Bhandara and Pandal Committees

Lunia appealed to all Bhandara and Pandal Committees to honour sanitation workers and encourage them for their hard work.

He also urged devotees to dispose of dona-pattal and other waste only at designated places.

“Along with the grandeur of Ganeshotsav, cleanliness is also our collective responsibility,” Lunia said.
