More than 250 senior citizens and persons with disabilities registered for assistive devices under the National Vayoshri and ADIP schemes

Assessment Camp Organised Under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan
An assessment camp was organised at the Padma Shri Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium in Rajnandgaon to facilitate the provision of assistive devices to senior citizens and persons with disabilities from the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation and Janpad Panchayat areas.
The camp was organised under the Seva Mera Yogdan initiative of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan by the Social Welfare Department in association with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The assessment was conducted under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana and ADIP Scheme. More than 250 senior citizens and persons with disabilities registered at the camp for assistive devices.
District Panchayat President Highlights Benefits of the Camp
District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav said the assessment camp for providing assistive devices was proving useful and beneficial for senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the district.
She said that last year, the Social Welfare Department and ALIMCO had organised assessment camps across every development block and Nagar Panchayat in the district, following which eligible beneficiaries were provided assistive devices according to their eligibility.
She appealed to all eligible senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the district to participate in the assessment camps being organised in development blocks and Nagar Panchayats and register themselves for assistive devices.
The camp was also addressed by District Panchayat Vice-President Kiran Sahu, Rajnandgaon Janpad Panchayat President Pratima Chandrakar, Vice-President Anita Sinha, District Panchayat members Sheela Takeshwar Sinha, Kiran Barle and Pushpa Uike, and councillors Shiv Verma and Shaiki Bagga.
Wide Range of Assistive Devices to Be Provided
Deputy Director, Social Welfare, Vaishali Mardwar said that senior citizens identified through the assessment camps would be provided various assistive devices during the upcoming distribution camps.
The devices for senior citizens will include wheelchairs, wheelchair-cum-commodes, stools with commodes, adjustable walking sticks, crutches in three sizes, tetrapods, folding walkers, cervical collars, hearing aids, spinal supports, foot-care kits, knee braces, polymer gel, L.S. belts, folding walkers and spectacles, among other equipment.

Devices for Persons with Disabilities
Persons with disabilities will also be provided a range of assistive devices based on their assessment and eligibility.
These include tricycles, folding wheelchairs, motorised tricycles, crutches, elbow crutches in different sizes, walking sticks, folding Braille canes, Braille kits, rollators, hearing aids, CP chairs, leprosy shoes, mobile phones, Sugamya Cane TLM kits, calipers and joystick wheelchairs, among other devices.
Officials and Beneficiaries Attend the Programme
The camp was attended by Chief Executive Officer of Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon Manish Sahu, along with officials and employees from the Municipal Corporation, Janpad Panchayat and Social Welfare Department.
Senior citizens, persons with disabilities and other citizens also participated in the camp.
The programme was conducted by Veer Singh Sahu, Principal Artist of the Social Welfare Department.
