Sports Academy Raipur and Hockey Kabirdham to Clash for Third Place

The Asmita Hockey State-Level Tournament will conclude with Mayank Srivastava, Deputy Director of SAI, gracing the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

Rajnandgaon (BTI)- The Asmita Hockey State-Level Tournament, organized under the aegis of the Sports Authority of India, Hockey India, and Chhattisgarh Hockey, witnessed thrilling encounters today. The tournament commenced with the sub-junior girls’ category, where Hockey Kabirdham faced off against Hockey Janjgir-Champa in the opening match. Janjgir-Champa dominated the game, securing a commanding 4-0 victory. Rani Rohidas opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, followed by Payal Yadav in the 35th minute. Shalu Dhiwar and Krishna Suryavanshi sealed the win with goals in the 42nd and 59th minutes, respectively.

In the second match, Hockey Bilaspur displayed sheer dominance against Sports Hockey Academy Raipur, registering a massive 13-0 victory. Bilaspur set the tone from the beginning, with Madhu Sindar scoring four goals, Sanam Dhurve adding three, while Damini Khusro and Riya Khalkho contributed two goals each. Smita Kujur and Sonakshi Yadav added one goal apiece to complete the rout.

The afternoon saw the junior girls’ semi-finals, where Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon emerged victorious. In the first semi-final, Hockey Bilaspur overwhelmed Hockey Kabirdham with a 7-0 win. Madhu led the charge with four goals, while Riya, Bhoomika, and Minakshi netted one goal each to confirm their place in the final.

The second semi-final witnessed the host team, Rajnandgaon, delivering a commanding 9-0 victory over Sports Academy Raipur. Dubey netted a hat-trick, Shital struck four times, while Vasundhara and Simran scored one goal each, securing Rajnandgaon’s final berth in style.

Before the matches, dignitaries greeted the players on the field. The event was graced by notable attendees, including R.K. Tripathi (Central In-Charge, SAI), Firoz Ansari (President, Chhattisgarh Hockey), and other distinguished guests such as Ramesh Daklia, Usha Thomas, Ranjivay Pratap Singh, Bhushan Sahu, Mrinal Chaubey, Anuraj Srivastava, and several sports enthusiasm
