Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to undertake a one-day visit to Rajasthan on July 4, 2026, during which he is expected to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several landmark infrastructure and development projects across the state.
The centrepiece of the visit will be the inauguration of the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) at Pachpadra in Balotra district, regarded as Rajasthan’s largest industrial project. The inauguration was originally scheduled for April 21, 2026, but was postponed following a fire in the refinery’s Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) on April 20.
State authorities have completed high-level review meetings to finalise preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.
Pachpadra Refinery Set for Inauguration
Prime Minister Modi will dedicate to the nation the Pachpadra Refinery, India’s first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex. The project is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities while strengthening Rajasthan’s industrial and petrochemical ecosystem.

The refinery inauguration was deferred after a fire incident at the CDU in April. Although the blaze was brought under control promptly and no casualties were reported, the affected unit sustained damage. Following repairs and comprehensive safety inspections, the refinery is now ready for production.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has described the refinery as a symbol of Rajasthan’s industrial progress and pride.
New Terminal at Jodhpur Airport
During the visit, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, developed at an estimated cost of ₹400 crore over an area of 37 acres.
The terminal features six aerobridges, modern passenger amenities and upgraded security infrastructure. The new facility is approximately six times larger than the existing terminal and is expected to significantly enhance air connectivity, tourism and investment across western Rajasthan.
Jodhpur Airport currently operates flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad.
Foundation Stone for Jaipur Metro Phase-II
Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Phase-II project, estimated to cost around ₹13,000 crore.
The project is expected to improve urban mobility, reduce travel time and further strengthen Jaipur’s public transport infrastructure.

The visit is also expected to reinforce the development initiatives being undertaken through the combined efforts of the Central and State Governments.
