In-Charge Secretary Reviews Citizen Grievances
Under Good Governance Festival 2026, District In-Charge Secretary Shri Avinash Champawat participated in a Public Grievance Redressal Camp organized at the grounds of Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra Government Higher Secondary School, Basantpur, Rajnandgaon. Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav was also present on the occasion.
The camp was organized for residents of Wards No. 41, 42, 43 and 46 under Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation. During the programme, Shri Champawat interacted directly with citizens, listened to their concerns and instructed concerned officials to ensure prompt resolution of grievances.
Focus on Effective Public Service Delivery
Shri Champawat stated that under Sushasan Tihar, continuous efforts are being made to effectively address public grievances so that citizens can receive government services quickly and conveniently.
He interacted with women, senior citizens and other beneficiaries present at the camp and gathered information regarding their issues. He directed officials to take necessary action for resolving the concerns raised by citizens.
The In-Charge Secretary also visited various departmental stalls set up at the camp and emphasized maximizing public benefits under government welfare schemes.
He also performed the Annaprashan ceremony for young children during the programme.
A total of 201 applications were received at the camp, including 180 demand-related applications and 21 complaint applications.
Collector Highlights Development Achievements
Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav shared details regarding development works undertaken in the district over the past year and the progress of various government schemes.
He informed that a large number of houses had been constructed under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana during the last year and that approximately 100 houses are currently being completed every day. He further stated that under PMAY 2.0, the state’s first completed urban housing unit has been developed in Rajnandgaon district.
The Collector noted that special efforts have been made to expedite revenue case disposal. More than 17,000 revenue cases were resolved during the past year, including over 12,000 uncontested cases related to partition, mutation and demarcation that were settled at the Gram Panchayat level, saving both time and money for rural residents.
Progress in Women Empowerment and Urban Infrastructure
The Collector stated that under the Lakhpati Didi Scheme, the district has empowered 150 percent more women than the prescribed target.
He further informed that several projects are underway to strengthen sports and educational infrastructure in urban areas, including the Nalanda Campus, a 2,000-seat auditorium, upgradation of Digvijay Stadium, development of a new astroturf facility and construction of a cricket stadium.
The state government has also approved Rs 40 crore for the beautification and development of Ranisagar and Budhasagar lakes in the city.
Cleanliness, Renewable Energy and Healthcare Initiatives
The Collector informed that more than 84,000 dustbins have been distributed to over 42,000 households to promote waste segregation at source.
Under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, more than 3,200 solar power connections have been installed across the district.
He also highlighted that renovation and upgradation works worth Rs 3.56 crore have been completed at the District Hospital and formally inaugurated. Construction of a new Chief Medical and Health Officer office building is also underway.
Thousands of patients are receiving healthcare services daily through the Medical College and District Hospital.
District Panchayat CEO Ms. Suruchi Singh shared information regarding the Potth Laika initiative, efforts being undertaken for high-risk pregnant women and programmes promoting crop diversification.
Multiple Departmental Services Offered at the Camp
Various departments established information and service stalls during the camp, including Revenue, Electricity, Women and Child Development, Labour, Prime Minister Awas Yojana, Public Service Centre, Birth and Death Certificate Services, Social Security Pension, Health, Water Connections, Food Department, Nazul, Ayurveda, Transport, Lead Bank and Animal Husbandry.
These stalls provided information regarding government schemes and facilitated service delivery to citizens.
Welfare Benefits Distributed to Beneficiaries
Several beneficiaries received assistance and approvals under different government schemes during the camp.
Under the PM SVANidhi Scheme, loan approval letters were distributed to three beneficiaries. The Social Welfare Department provided assistive devices to persons with disabilities, while the Health Department distributed Ayushman Cards.
The Transport Department issued Driving Licences, and the Women and Child Development Department distributed Noni Suraksha Certificates.

The department also organized Godh Bharai ceremonies for pregnant women and Annaprashan ceremonies for young children.
The Health Department conducted health check-ups and distributed medicines free of cost.
Beneficiaries also received ration cards, Ayushman Cards, learning licences, hearing aids and loan sanction letters under the PM SVANidhi Scheme, among other benefits.
Public Representatives and Officials Present
Among those present on the occasion were Corporation Chairman Shri Topendra Singh Paras Verma, Shri Shiv Verma, Shri Devsharan Sen, Additional Collector Shri Premprakash Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma, SDM Shri Gautam Patil, ward councillors, public representatives, government officials and a large number of citizens.
