Family in Kallutola Receives ₹1.08 Lakh Subsidy for Solar Power Installation After Facing Monthly Electricity Bills of ₹4,000–₹5,000

For the family of Housilal Sahu, a resident of Kallutola village in Chhuriya development block, electricity bills ranging between ₹4,000 and ₹5,000 every month had become a financial concern.
Meeting the high electricity expenses alongside other household needs had become challenging for the family. A new avenue of relief opened after Sahu learned about the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana through the Panchayat and a Surya Sabha.
₹1.08 Lakh Subsidy Helps Install Solar Power System
After receiving information about the scheme through the Surya Sabha, Sahu decided to install a solar power system at his home.
Under the scheme, his family received a total subsidy of ₹1.08 lakh, comprising ₹78,000 from the Central Government and ₹30,000 from the State Government.
Sahu expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for the support provided through the scheme.
Solar Energy Reduces Electricity Expense Burden
Sahu said that after the solar power system was installed on the roof of his house, his family received significant relief from electricity expenses.
The burden of paying electricity bills amounting to thousands of rupees every month is no longer the same as before. According to Sahu, solar energy is meeting the household’s requirements while also helping increase the family’s financial savings.
He recalled that earlier, paying the electricity bill was a recurring concern for the family. With the benefits of solar energy now available, the family is happy with the change.
Scheme Becomes a Source of Economic Relief
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sahu said that the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has become a means of financial relief for families like his.
He also extended his wishes for the Seva Sankalp campaign being organised to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service journey. He said such public welfare schemes are bringing positive changes to people’s lives.
