PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has brought financial relief to Housilal Sahu’s family in Kallutola, Rajnandgaon. After receiving ₹1.08 lakh in subsidy, his family installed a solar power system at home.

A Surya Sabha was organised in Keshotola village of Chhuriya block to promote the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Collector Jitendra Yadav explained the registration, vendor selection, loan, subsidy and billing process to villagers. Rajnandgaon district has so far received 10,698 applications, with 5,036 solar plants installed and 3,575 beneficiaries receiving subsidies. During the programme, 200 fruit-bearing saplings, including mango, guava and amla, were also planted under the Awas Vatika initiative.

The Prime Minister’s Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is helping consumers reduce electricity expenses while promoting clean energy adoption. Rajnandgaon resident and Energy Department representative Rupchand Bhimanani reported significant savings after installing a 3-kW rooftop solar plant, calling the initiative a visionary step toward energy self-reliance and environmental sustainability.

The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is witnessing rapid progress in Rajnandgaon district, with more than 7,800 applications received so far. Backed by subsidies of up to ₹1.08 lakh from the Centre and State governments, the scheme is enabling households to adopt rooftop solar, reduce electricity bills, and move towards energy self-reliance.

Energy Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav (IAS) urged villagers in Singhola to become “energy providers” under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. He highlighted the government’s combined subsidies and easy loans for rooftop solar plants, which are rapidly gaining popularity in Chhattisgarh.

The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company has launched an extensive awareness campaign across Mohla, Chhuria, Dongargaon, Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, and Dongargarh under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. The initiative aims to promote rooftop solar installations by providing on-the-spot registration and guidance on the online application process. Over 6,500 applications have already been received, with many beneficiaries now enjoying free, uninterrupted, and eco-friendly power.
