Rajnandgaon BJYM President Chintu Sonkar Seeks Impartial Investigation, FIR and Organisational Action if Allegations Are Substantiated

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Rajnandgaon district, has sought an impartial investigation into a viral video allegedly linked to Congress district functionary Devesh Vaishnav, over claims that he danced publicly to a song allegedly supporting Naxalite Hidma.
BJYM district president Chintu Sonkar questioned the Congress leadership’s position on the matter and sought a clear response from senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Bhupesh Baghel. He also demanded that an FIR and organisational action be taken if the allegations are established through investigation.
BJYM Seeks Verification of Viral Video
Sonkar said that while the Congress has raised issues concerning justice for the victims of the Jhiram Valley massacre and questioned aspects of the investigation process, allegations have now surfaced concerning one of its district functionaries.
He said the authenticity and context of the viral video should be established through an impartial investigation rather than through political claims.
Reference to Jhiram Valley Victims
Sonkar said Rajnandgaon lost senior Congress leader and former MLA Uday Mudaliar in the Maoist attack at Jhiram Valley.
Against this background, he described the allegations concerning a Rajnandgaon Congress district functionary as serious and said the matter should be examined factually.
He further said that if the claim regarding the alleged dance during a public religious event such as a Ganesh immersion programme is established, the police should conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances.
Demand for Technical Investigation
The BJYM district president called for a technical examination of the viral video, including verification of the person appearing in it, the actual content and context of the song, and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
He said that if an offence is established during the investigation, an FIR should be registered under the applicable legal provisions and further legal action should follow.
Sonkar also called upon the Congress leadership to clarify its position regarding the allegations involving its district functionary and said organisational action should be considered if the allegations are found to be true.

“Investigation and Action Necessary if Allegations Are Proved”
Sonkar said respect for the victims of the Jhiram Valley massacre should not remain limited to political statements. Referring to Rajnandgaon’s loss of Uday Mudaliar in the attack, he reiterated his demand for an impartial investigation and action if wrongdoing is established.
