Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Visits Noida Residence to Pay Tribute, Offers Condolences to Bereaved Family

Suresh Chandra Sharma, the father of Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma, passed away on Friday morning at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Jaipur, at the age of 85 after a prolonged illness.
Following his demise, the mortal remains were taken to Noida, where the last rites were performed in the presence of family members.
A prayer meeting (Teesri Baithak) was held on Sunday at Club-27, Sector-27, Noida, where senior IAS and IPS officers, members of the judiciary, and a large number of well-wishers gathered to pay their respects to the departed soul.

On Monday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the residence of DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma in Noida to offer his condolences. The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the departed soul and met the bereaved family, expressing his heartfelt sympathies during the difficult time.
In his condolence message, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said:
“Today, I visited the Noida residence of Rajasthan Director General of Police Shri Rajeev Sharma to pay my heartfelt tributes to his revered father and offered my condolences to the bereaved family. I pray to God to grant the departed soul eternal peace at His holy feet and give strength to the grieving family to bear this irreparable loss. Om Shanti.”
Several senior civil and police officers also visited to pay their respects, including IAS Sudhansh Pant, IPS V.K. Singh, Kunwar Rashtradeep, Anil Paliwal, IPS Vishal Bansal, S. Sengathir, Hawa Singh Ghumaria, Prafull Kumar, retired IPS Umesh Mishra, retired BSF DIG Pankaj Kumar Singh, and other senior officials.

Distinguished Public Service Background
Late Suresh Chandra Sharma was a retired City Magistrate and a Uttar Pradesh PCS officer. His son, Rajeev Kumar Sharma, is a 1990-batch IPS officer and has been serving as the Director General of Police, Rajasthan, since July 2025.
The demise of Suresh Chandra Sharma has been widely mourned across the Rajasthan Police fraternity as well as political and administrative circles. Tributes have poured in, with prayers offered for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family.
