The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee has launched an all-out political offensive against the ruling BJP government, with PCC Chief Deepak Baij calling the upcoming “Kisan, Jawan, Samvidhan Jan Sabha” in Raipur on July 7 a “clarion call against the injustice and failures” of the state government.

Addressing a high-level meeting of Congress workers and office bearers at Satnam Bhawan, GE Road, Baij accused the BJP of pushing the state into lawlessness. “There is no rule of law in Chhattisgarh under BJP’s watch. Crime, corruption, and mafia raj are at their peak. Women feel unsafe, youth are being cheated on the promise of jobs, farmers are struggling for fertilizers, and even the Constitution is under threat,” he said.

The meeting was convened to finalize preparations for the mass rally where All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge is expected to deliver a keynote address. The PCC chief urged party workers to mobilize thousands from Rajnandgaon for the Raipur gathering.

City Congress General Secretary Amit Chandrawanshi informed that along with Baij, senior Congress leaders including Rajnandgaon Assembly in-charge Irfan Khan, Rural District President Bhagwat Sahu, and Urban District President Kulbir Singh Chhabra were present and welcomed the PCC Chief with garlands and slogans. The meeting began with floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.

In his address, Baij leveled serious allegations against the BJP regime, claiming rampant illegal liquor trade, sand mafia dominance, school closures in the name of rationalization, illegal tree cutting, iron ore black-marketing in Bastar, and poor health infrastructure. “Ten thousand schools have been shut, children’s future is in jeopardy, and the state’s natural resources are being looted,” he alleged.

He also cited systemic harassment of government employees and a total collapse in employment generation for youth. “This corrupt BJP government has failed on every front and must be uprooted,” Baij declared, adding that Kharge’s visit is intended to ignite this change.

The meeting saw the participation of a large number of senior Congress figures, including MLAs, former ministers, youth leaders, NSUI members, Seva Dal, and block-level representatives. Notable speakers included MLA Bhola Ram Sahu, former Youth Commission Chairman Jitendra Mudaliyar, and Congress leader Santosh Pille.

The presence of grassroots leaders and workers from urban and rural areas underscored the Congress’ commitment to mass mobilization and electoral preparedness. The atmosphere was charged with political enthusiasm and calls for ousting the BJP from power in Chhattisgarh.
