Speaking at the event, Mayor Yadav said, “Planting a tree on this day is not enough. Every special day should be marked with plantation. The idea of planting in the name of one’s mother emotionally connects individuals to their responsibility. Just as we enjoy the fruits of trees planted by the previous generation, our future generations will thank us for the green legacy we leave behind.”

He emphasized the collective responsibility of citizens to support the mission and announced the target of planting approximately 7,000 saplings across various locations in the city this year.

The Mayor also urged citizens, social workers, and women’s groups to participate actively by planting trees around their homes and neighborhoods and taking care of them as living assets of the community.

Concluding the program, Mayor Yadav led the environmental pledge, urging the public to protect nature, avoid single-use plastics, adopt reusable bags, maintain cleanliness, minimize waste, conserve energy and water, and most importantly, plant and protect trees.

The event served as a powerful reminder that environmental protection is a shared duty and that community participation is the key to a greener, healthier future.
