Pankaj Bandhaw Demands Government Jobs for Families of Kulgam Terror Attack Victims

Scheduled Caste Council leader seeks employment for one family member of each deceased migrant worker and stronger safety measures for labourers

Pankaj Bandhaw, State President of the Akhil Bharat Anusuchit Jati Parishad, has strongly condemned the killing of two migrant workers from Chhattisgarh in the terrorist attack in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and demanded that the government provide a government job to one member of each bereaved family.

He said that while financial assistance is important, it is also the government’s responsibility to secure the future of the affected families through permanent rehabilitation measures, including employment.

Bandhaw also called for strict action against the terrorists, the formulation of an effective security plan for migrant workers, and the establishment of a rapid coordination mechanism to respond during emergencies.

He further demanded that a permanent system be put in place to ensure the respectful transportation of the mortal remains of deceased migrant workers to their native villages.

Bandhaw said that a delegation of the Akhil Bharat Anusuchit Jati Parishad will submit a memorandum addressed to the Governor through the Rajnandgaon Collector. He added that the organisation will also write to the Chhattisgarh State Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission, seeking its intervention in the matter.

Paying tribute to the deceased workers, Bandhaw said the council would continue to raise its voice for justice, security and the dignified rehabilitation of the affected families.
