Virtual Foundation Laying of Roads Under PMGSY Phase-IV Held in District

10 ponds inaugurated under “Nava Taria–Aay Ka Jariya” campaign; Digital Facilitation Centre inaugurated at Bharritola

Under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh, the virtual foundation laying ceremony of approved roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Phase-IV was conducted across the state today by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai from Jashpur district.

In the same sequence, a foundation laying programme under PMGSY Phase-IV was organized at the district headquarters of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki.


Public Representatives and Officials Present

The programme was attended by District Panchayat Vice-Chairman Bhojesh Shah Mandavi, District Panchayat Member Narsingh Bhandari, District Panchayat Member Lakhan Singh Kalame, public representatives Dilip Verma and Madan Sahu, along with other local representatives, officials, employees, and citizens.


Three Road Projects Approved in District

Under the scheme, construction of three rural roads has been approved in the district with a total length of 9.90 kilometres and a sanctioned amount of ₹1,151.66 lakh.

  • Ghavadetola to Jharan (3.80 km) in Mohla development block with a sanctioned amount of ₹453.53 lakh.
  • Vasdi Road to Gotatola (3.00 km) in Mohla block with an approval of ₹312.28 lakh.
  • Tatekasa to Pitemeta (3.10 km) in Manpur development block with a sanctioned amount of ₹385.85 lakh.

Pond Construction Under “Nava Taria–Aay Ka Jariya”

During the programme, foundation laying of 10 pond construction works was also carried out under the “Nava Taria–Aay Ka Jariya” campaign in the district. The initiative aims to promote water conservation and livelihood enhancement in rural areas.


Inauguration of Digital Facilitation Centre

On the occasion, public representatives inaugurated the Atal Digital Facilitation Centre building at Bharritola, marking another step toward strengthening digital services accessibility in rural regions.


Better Connectivity to Boost Rural Development

Addressing the gathering, District Panchayat Vice-Chairman Bhojesh Shah Mandavi stated that construction of new roads will significantly improve connectivity between remote villages and major routes. He emphasized that better connectivity will enhance access to education, healthcare, and other essential services while making travel to block and district headquarters more convenient, ensuring effective implementation of government schemes.


Focus on Infrastructure, Water Conservation and Digital Access

Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Bharati Chandrakar, while addressing the programme, elaborated on the importance of the approved road projects, the “Nava Taria–Aay Ka Jariya” campaign, and the Atal Digital Facilitation Centre.

She stated that these initiatives are aimed at strengthening infrastructure while simultaneously promoting water conservation, livelihood generation, and expansion of digital services in rural areas.

At the conclusion of the programme, approval letters for sanctioned road and pond construction works were distributed to the concerned sarpanches by public representatives.
