Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav has assured reconsideration of the recently increased property tax rates following discussions with a joint delegation comprising BJP leaders from North and South Mandals along with members of the councillor group.
The delegation met the Mayor to highlight irregularities and public dissatisfaction arising from the sharp increase in property tax across the city.
Delegation Raises Public Concerns
The delegation included BJP North Mandal President Sumit Bhatia, Chandrabhan Jaghel, District Media In-charge from South Mandal Amar Lalwani, Praveen Shukla, Suresh Sahu, and councillor group representatives Ranu Jain and Paras Verma.
During the discussion, representatives informed the Mayor that citizens across various localities were facing significant difficulties due to the steep hike in property tax rates and demanded immediate corrective measures.
Mayor Agrees to Reconsider Revised Rates
Responding to the concerns, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav immediately expressed agreement with the issues raised and assured that the increased property tax rates would be reviewed.
He stated that property tax rates had not been revised for several years, which led to the recent decision. However, he acknowledged that the implemented revision was not practical in the public interest, as several areas witnessed one-sided increases that lacked logical justification.
Taking public sentiment into account, the Mayor assured that the property tax structure would be re-evaluated and re-determined in the larger interest of citizens.
Leaders Express Gratitude
Following the Mayor’s positive assurance, leaders from the North and South Mandals along with councillor representatives expressed heartfelt gratitude and presented a bouquet to Mayor Madhusudan Yadav as a token of appreciation.
