Self-enumeration begins in Mohla district from April 16; officials urge residents to provide accurate information

As per the directions of the Directorate of Census Operations, self-enumeration has commenced in the district from April 16. Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Bharati Chandrakar filled her self-enumeration form online through the designated portal earlier today.
The CEO appealed to district residents to cooperate with census enumerators and provide accurate information without hesitation. She assured that all information provided during the census process will remain completely confidential and will not be accepted as legal evidence under any circumstances.
Census Data to Support Welfare Planning
Officials clarified that census data is not used to determine eligibility for beneficiaries of government schemes. Instead, the information serves as a foundation for welfare planning, equitable resource distribution, and delimitation of electoral constituencies.
The government has introduced a simple and user-friendly process allowing citizens to complete self-enumeration independently. The head of the household can fill the form online, and only one self-enumeration form can be submitted using a single mobile device.
The form can be filled daily between 6:00 AM and 12:00 midnight. After submission, a unique ID will be generated, which must be shared with the enumerator during household visits.
Citizens who are unable to complete the self-enumeration process will be covered during field visits by enumerators scheduled between May 1 and May 30.
First Phase: House Listing and Housing Census
According to the programme set by the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, the census in the district will be conducted in two phases.
The first phase — House Listing Operation (HLO) and housing enumeration — will be carried out from May 1 to May 30, 2026. During this period, enumerators will visit households and collect digital data using the Census 2027 House List Mobile Application. Information submitted through self-enumeration will also be verified during these visits.
Authorities informed that data collected through both methods will undergo multi-level verification to ensure accuracy.
Multi-Level Verification and Administrative Oversight
Initially, supervisors will conduct verification of collected information. Charge Officers will subsequently carry out field inspections to correct any discrepancies.
Officials will also provide detailed information regarding village and urban registers, charge registers, responsibilities of enumerators, supervisors, and charge officers, along with supervisory and legal provisions related to census operations.
Citizens have been encouraged to utilize the self-enumeration opportunity through the official SE web portal: https://se.census.gov.in/, where individuals can independently submit their census details under the prescribed format.
