Foundation laid for 154 development projects worth ₹9.78 crore across 59 Gram Panchayats through virtual programme

Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh today virtually joined foundation-laying ceremonies held at 15 different locations of the Rajnandgaon Assembly constituency from his Assembly residence office in Raipur.
During the programme, he performed the foundation laying of 154 development works worth ₹9 crore 78 lakh 20 thousand across 59 Gram Panchayats, providing a significant development push to rural areas. Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey joined the programme virtually, while former MP Abhishek Singh attended the ceremony at Gram Panchayat Ranitarai.
Focus on Rural Infrastructure Expansion
Addressing the gathering, Dr Raman Singh stated that simultaneous commencement of development works in multiple Gram Panchayats marks an important step toward holistic regional development. He congratulated public representatives, Panchayat officials, and villagers, stating that expansion of development works would strengthen basic infrastructure and bring positive changes to rural life.
He emphasized that the government is prioritizing rural development, expansion of basic amenities, and effective implementation of welfare schemes. He also announced plans to personally visit villages soon to review development progress and interact directly with citizens.
Inauguration of Atal Digital Service Centres
Dr Singh informed that Atal Digital Service Centres were inaugurated in villages Achanakpur-Bhatapara, Navagaon, and Gathula. These centres will provide banking facilities, digital services, and access to various government schemes locally, reducing villagers’ dependence on urban centres.
He appreciated the large participation of women in the programme and highlighted ongoing government initiatives for women’s empowerment. Referring to provisions of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, he noted that women will receive 33 percent reservation in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies, strengthening democratic participation.
Information Shared on Census 2027
Dr Raman Singh also informed citizens about the first phase of Census 2027, stating that the digital self-enumeration process through the online portal has begun from April 16 to April 30, 2026. House listing and housing enumeration will be conducted between May 1 and May 30, 2026.
He appealed to citizens to actively cooperate in this national exercise so that no individual is left out of the census process.
Su-Shasan Tihar 2026 to Address Public Grievances
Providing details about the Su-Shasan Tihar 2026 campaign initiated by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Dr Singh said that public grievance redressal camps will be organized in various Gram Panchayats from May 1 to June 10, 2026.
These camps will address revenue matters, mutation and demarcation cases, issuance of income, caste, and residence certificates, MGNREGA payments, electricity and drinking water issues, and pending matters related to various government schemes.
Former MP Highlights Development Initiatives
Former MP Abhishek Singh described the foundation laying of nearly ₹10 crore worth of development works as a significant achievement for the Rajnandgaon Assembly constituency. He expressed gratitude to Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
He said the government remains committed to strengthening rural infrastructure through road construction, drinking water solutions, and expansion of tap water supply to every household. Stressing the importance of water conservation, he urged villagers to adopt rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge practices.
He added that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana is empowering women economically, while the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) is enabling construction of permanent houses for rural families. New paddy procurement centres and cooperative societies have also been opened in the district to benefit farmers.
Participation of Public Representatives
The programme was also addressed by Ranitarai Sarpanch Chameli Sahu, Usriboard Sarpanch Manisha Sahu, and District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh.
Several public representatives and citizens from various Gram Panchayats including Bharregaon, Sukuldaehan, Phuljhar, Janglesar, Thakurtola, Dilapahari, Tedesara, Singhola, Khuteri, Farhad, Achanakpur Bhatapara, Bhothipar Khurd, Manki, and Surgi joined the programme virtually. Among those connected were Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, Labour Welfare Board Chairman Yogesh Dutt Mishra, Janpad Panchayat President Pratima Chandrakar, Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Sachin Baghel, and several other elected representatives.
A large number of villagers participated virtually in the event, marking strong community engagement in the development initiatives.
