A wave of devotion and celebration swept through Rajnandgaon railway station today as Tourism, Culture, Religious Justice and Endowments Minister Rajesh Agrawal flagged off a special pilgrimage train carrying 650 devotees to Ayodhya under the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Ayodhya Dham Yojana.
The pilgrims, hailing from 13 districts of Durg and Bastar divisions, were sent off amidst joyous chants of “Jai Shri Ram” accompanied by the rhythmic beats of dhol and manjiras. The atmosphere was charged with religious fervor as families and community members gathered to bid farewell to the devotees embarking on their spiritual journey.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Rajesh Agrawal emphasized the deep cultural and spiritual connection of the people with Lord Ram. “The glory of Lord Ram has been embedded in our hearts for centuries. With the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, every devotee wishes to seek blessings there. Under the vision of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, thousands are now able to undertake this sacred pilgrimage free of cost,” he said.
He highlighted that last year, over 22,100 devotees benefitted from the scheme through 26 special trains, while more than 6,000 devotees have already availed the opportunity this year. “When one pilgrim receives blessings, it enriches countless others in their community,” he remarked, extending warm wishes for the devotees’ safe and fulfilling journey.
Lok Sabha MP Santosh Pandey expressed gratitude, saying, “It is our fortune that Lord Ram has his maternal roots in Chhattisgarh, the land of Kaushalya. Both the central and state governments have consistently supported tourism and pilgrimage initiatives. We thank Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for this noble scheme.”
