Strict vigil near Maa Bamleshwari Temple to ensure safety of devotees amid festive rush

In a swift move to maintain law and order during the ongoing Chaitra Navratri festivities, Dongargarh police have taken preventive action against five individuals accused of creating disturbances and harassing devotees visiting the revered Maa Bamleshwari Temple.
With a large influx of pilgrims visiting the temple, police have intensified surveillance and patrolling across the town to ensure a peaceful environment. Acting under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, along with guidance from Additional SP Kirtan Rathore and supervision of SDOP Keshari Nandan Nayak, the local police team has been conducting regular patrols and monitoring sensitive areas.
On March 24, police received information about disturbances at Kurabhat Main Road and near a hotel in Dongargarh, where a group of युवक allegedly engaged in arguments, shouting, and attempts to create a law-and-order situation with visiting devotees.
Responding promptly, the police team reached the spot and found the accused involved in acts disturbing public peace. Despite warnings, the individuals continued their behavior, prompting police to initiate preventive action under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The accused have been identified as Sandeep Kumar Verma (20), Eklavya Hathile (19), Sunil Sahu (21), Akash Kumar Koshe (23), and Shravan Kumar Kanwar (22). All five were produced before the SDM court in Dongargarh.
Police officials stated that strict monitoring, including naka checking, hotel inspections, and continuous patrolling, is being carried out across the region. Authorities have warned that any individual found indulging in unlawful activities or disturbing public peace during the festival period will face stringent legal action.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe and hassle-free experience for devotees visiting Dongargarh during Navratri.
