Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the Manusmriti at a Pune event have triggered a political controversy, with Rajnandgaon BJP MP Santosh Pandey strongly criticising the Congress leader and defending the role of women in India’s political and constitutional history.

Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey has supported the FCRA Amendment Bill, 2026 and said that political parties or organisations opposing its provisions should place their objections before the Joint Parliamentary Committee. He stressed the need for transparency and accountability in foreign funding and raised questions over the need to examine NGO activities in remote tribal areas.

Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to discuss road infrastructure projects in the parliamentary constituency. The fair, to be inaugurated by MP Santosh Pandey and Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, will feature a wide range of Swadeshi goods, cultural performances and competitions, with special focus on local products and self-reliant India.
