Street vendors and small traders operating in the Kamla College area recently met Mayor Madhusudan Yadav along with Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha State Minister Monu Bahadur Singh, raising several concerns related to civic facilities and daily operational challenges.
During the interaction, the Mayor listened carefully to the issues highlighted by the traders and provided necessary guidance regarding cleanliness and civic arrangements. He assured the traders that the concerned problems would be addressed at the earliest.
Focus on Cleanliness and Civic Responsibility
During the meeting, the Mayor appealed to all traders to place dustbins in front of their respective establishments and maintain cleanliness in the area. He stressed that collective responsibility towards sanitation would help improve the overall environment of the commercial zone.
The traders expressed satisfaction following the discussion and assured the civic administration that they would give special attention to maintaining cleanliness in the future.

Rapid Commercial Growth in the Area
Notably, the nearly 1.5-kilometre stretch connecting Basantpur Road from G.E. Road near the Collectorate has witnessed rapid development in recent times. The road now presents a more developed and attractive appearance, reflecting growing commercial activity.
The area has seen an increase in business establishments ranging from large retail outlets to small kiosks and roadside vendors. Fruit sellers, tea and snack stalls, small hotels, washermen, and several daily service providers are earning their livelihood along this busy stretch, adding vibrancy and movement to the locality.
Infrastructure Challenges Emerging
However, with rising commercial activity, infrastructural challenges have also surfaced. Small traders operating within limited spaces are facing issues related to space management, sanitation, traffic movement, and access to basic civic amenities.
The meeting between the traders and the Mayor is being viewed as a positive initiative, raising expectations that concrete steps will soon be taken toward resolving the concerns of small vendors and improving civic management in the area.
