Infrastructure Development Must Be Completed with Commitment and Quality: Collector Jitendra Yadav

Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav today conducted an intensive review of construction works being carried out by various construction agencies and contractors during a meeting held at the Collectorate conference hall.
Focus on Strengthening Infrastructure
The Collector stated that all construction agencies must ensure quality work to strengthen infrastructure across the district. Issuing a stern warning to contractors, he said that strict action would be taken against any negligence in road construction works.
He further directed contractors to install barricades during road construction activities to ensure proper execution and safety standards. Reviewing information related to roads under construction across the district, he emphasized that road connectivity plays a vital role in accelerating development and improving transportation facilities for citizens.
Review of Major Road Projects
The Collector directed officials to expedite the completion of road construction projects and conducted a detailed review of several ongoing works, including:
- Widening and strengthening of the Rajnandgaon–Kawardha–Pondi Road.
- Bituminization and bridge/culvert construction on the Gopalpur–Gidhwa Road in Rajnandgaon.
- Four-lane construction work in Dongargaon Basti, Rajnandgaon.
- Widening and strengthening of the Sukhri–Jhika–Devanbhedi Road.
- Road construction works on the Koterabatha Road in Surgi.
- Construction work on the Chhipa–Bade Kusmi Road in Dongargarh.
He instructed officials to ensure the early completion of these projects and directed concerned departments to resolve issues related to pole shifting, pipeline relocation, and other obstacles affecting construction progress.

Building Construction Projects Also Reviewed
The Collector also reviewed building construction works being undertaken across the district, including the construction of various government office buildings, residential complexes, and high school buildings.
Progress of Bridges and Rural Road Schemes Assessed
Reviewing projects under the Public Works Department (Bridge Division), the Collector sought information regarding the progress of high-level bridges and new bridge construction works. He also reviewed the implementation status of the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (CMGSY).
He assessed the progress of bituminous road works, retaining walls, and cement concrete (CC) construction works and instructed officials to complete all ongoing projects within the prescribed timelines on a priority basis.
Under PMGSY, he reviewed the progress of roads including:
- Nawagaon to Masuljob.
- Karmari to Gwalindih.
Under road renewal works, he reviewed:
- Gathula to Tumdilewa.
- Mudipar to Mangta.
- Patewa to Bijetla.
He also sought updates on various other ongoing road projects.
Urban and Departmental Projects Under Review
The Collector reviewed construction activities being carried out in urban areas and also assessed projects being implemented by the Rural Engineering Services Department, Tribal Development Department, and local bodies in Dongargarh, Dongargaon, Chhuria, and various urban panchayats.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma, Joint Collector Mrs. Sheetal Bansal, Deputy Collector Mr. Aniket Sahu, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Mr. S.K. Chaurasia, Executive Engineer of Rural Engineering Services Mr. Padmasambhav Mishra, SDO (Bridge Division) Mr. Farooqui, Dongargaon SDO Mr. B.K. Akhand, Dongargarh SDO Mr. K.K. Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Tribal Development Ms. Diksha Gupta, and other officials.
