Taking serious note of the recent power plant accident in Singhitari village of Sakti district, Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav has directed strict enforcement of safety standards across all industrial establishments in the district. The Collector emphasized that adequate safety arrangements must be ensured to prevent recurrence of such incidents and warned that strict action will be taken in cases of negligence.
He instructed all industrial units to comply rigorously with prescribed safety norms and to treat worker safety as the highest priority.

Joint Inspection Drive Launched
Acting on the Collector’s directions, officials from the Revenue and Industry Departments carried out joint inspections at multiple industrial establishments across the district.
The inspection covered Kankariya Rice Mills Diwanbhedi, Shri Shyam Industry Maharajpur, Janata Industries and Rice Mill, Vardhman Rice Mill Janakpur, Kakariya Polymers Parrikala, Shri Ram Seamless Private Limited Pipe Industry, Suresh Rice Mill Parrikala, Jindatt Food Processing Unit Janakpur, and Balaji Rice Mill Maharajpur.

Safety Gaps Identified in Several Units
During inspection at Kankariya Rice Mills Diwanbhedi, officials directed the management to enhance fire safety arrangements.
At Shri Shyam Industry Maharajpur, only one fire extinguisher was found installed, and the absence of a fire alarm system prompted immediate instructions to install additional extinguishers, fire alarms, and ensure adequate sand and water arrangements.
At Janata Industries and Rice Mill, defective fire extinguishers were detected, and the unit was instructed to complete all safety repairs within one week.
Despite having sufficient fire extinguishers at Vardhman Rice Mill Janakpur, the absence of fire alarms and emergency contact displays led officials to order immediate installation.

Immediate Corrective Measures Ordered
At Kakariya Polymers Parrikala, an expired fire extinguisher was found and management was directed to refill it immediately.
Suresh Rice Mill Parrikala was found operating with a fire extinguisher expired since 2019, and boiler inspection documents were unavailable, leading authorities to issue immediate compliance instructions.
Jindatt Food Processing Unit Janakpur lacked fire alarms, sand-water safety arrangements, and emergency number displays, while Balaji Rice Mill Maharajpur was found to have only partial safety compliance and was directed to complete necessary measures at the earliest.

Units Following Safety Standards Appreciated
All three units of Crest Steel and Power Private Limited were found compliant with fire safety and operational safety standards. The facility maintains regular log books and conducts periodic fire mock drills and safety exercises.
Similarly, Shri Ram Seamless Private Limited Pipe Industry was found adhering to prescribed safety norms.
