Komal Singh Rajput (Bhai Raja) Appointed as District BJP President Abhishek Singh

Komal Singh Rajput has been actively involved in several BJP-affiliated organizations, including ABVP, Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, RSS, and others, holding significant responsibilities. He is known for his commitment to the party’s principles and is regarded as one of the closest adherents of its ideology. He was also the first priority of Dr Raman Singh.

During the Ayodhya Ram Mandir movement in the 1990s, Rajput was an active member(Rangrut) of the Bajrang Dal and played a prominent role in the campaign. He has successfully executed all responsibilities assigned by the party over the years.

Currently, Rajput serves as the Vice President of the BJP’s State Agricultural Cell and has previously held the position of Vice Chairman of the Rajnandgaon Agricultural Produce Mandi Committee. With extensive organizational experience, he also managed the local camp office of then-Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. Rajput is known for his affable personality, strong community connections, and approachable nature. He is considered one of the most adaptable leaders in the district BJP’s history. His simplicity, flexibility, and signature phrase, “Bhai Raja,” define his unique identity.

As of the time of this report, a stage was being prepared at the main square of Nandai, the city’s largest ward, to welcome and honor the newly appointed president. Meanwhile, Rajput was attending a ceremony marking the first anniversary of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha at the Dakshinmukhi Hanuman Temple.

Political Significance of Rajnandgaon
Rajnandgaon holds a special place in Chhattisgarh’s political landscape. For 15 years, Dr. Raman Singh served as the state’s Chief Minister and represented the Dongargarh constituency in the district, later becoming a three-time MLA from Rajnandgaon. He currently serves as the Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly.

Given its political importance, even minor developments in the BJP or Congress within Rajnandgaon attract widespread attention. The District BJP President’s position, in particular, was the subject of intense discussions.

Although Komal Singh Rajput was the strongest contender for the role due to his seniority, activeness, and credibility, there were speculations that he might be offered a red-beacon position, such as Chairman of a Board or Corporation, while someone else might be appointed as the district president. However, any alternative candidate would have likely led to contention and disputesण. The BJP seems to have resolved this potential discord by approving Rajput’s appointment, balancing the equation effectively.
