Speaker Dr. Raman Singh to Distribute Sarees to Sanitation Workers and Women’s Self-Help Groups Ahead of Diwali

Civic Event in Rajnandgaon to Honor Women Employees and “Swachhata Didis” on October 16 at Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium

Ahead of the Diwali festival, Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker and MLA Dr. Raman Singh will distribute sarees to Swachhata Didis, women employees of the Municipal Corporation, and members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the “Women for Tree” initiative. The distribution program will be held tomorrow, October 16, at 12:30 PM in the Padmashri Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium, organized by the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation.

The event will also be graced by Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey, along with local public representatives, municipal officials, and dignitaries from the city.

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav stated that the Municipal Corporation regularly provides uniforms, sarees, raincoats, and other essential safety materials to sanitation workers and Class-IV employees as part of its welfare initiatives. Continuing this tradition, sarees will be distributed to women employees ahead of the festival of lights to acknowledge their contribution to maintaining city cleanliness.

He further added that this year’s program holds special significance as it coincides with Dr. Raman Singh’s birthday, making the celebration more meaningful. Mayor Yadav urged citizens, corporators, journalists, and community members to attend the event and encourage the women employees who work tirelessly to keep the city clean and beautiful.
