The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is not merely a government program—it is the spirit of transforming dreams, ideas, and aspirations into reality with sincerity and resolve. Through the security of a permanent home, this scheme has brought significant changes in the lives of economically weaker families. Under this initiative, they have not only received a house but also a world full of happiness.
Smt. Dashoda Yadav from village Joratari under Rajnandgaon Development Block shared that a permanent house is nothing short of a blessing for her. Earlier, she lived in a mud house where the rainy season caused great trouble. Due to monkeys, she had to repair the roof every year, which cost a lot. With limited sources of income, the family’s financial condition was not good. Her son and daughter-in-law work as daily wage laborers. She mentioned that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, she received financial assistance of ₹1,40,000 and now enjoys peaceful sleep even during the rainy season in her new pucca (permanent) house.
Smt. Yadav further stated that along with the construction of the house, water is now reaching their doorstep under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which has provided great relief. Earlier, they had to walk far to fetch water, but now that problem no longer exists. She also received 90 days of employment under the MGNREGA scheme, along with ₹1,000 per month through the Old Age Pension Scheme and Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Additionally, under the Public Distribution System, her family receives 35 kilograms of rice per month from the government fair price shop.
She also mentioned that after the completion of the house, she received government assistance for the construction of a toilet. With the pucca house and the facilities provided, her life has become much easier. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for granting her a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
