District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure chaired a joint meeting of the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) and the District Consultative Committee (DCC) at the Collectorate hall, emphasizing the role of banks in ensuring that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach the maximum number of people.

The meeting was attended by Reserve Bank of India’s Lead District Officer Mr. Digvijay Raut along with senior bankers and officials.

Focus on Key Schemes

Dr. Bhure instructed bankers to prioritize pending cases under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Yojana, ensuring timely sanctioning of loans and support to eligible beneficiaries. He stressed that under the Surya Ghar scheme, banks must not charge documentation fees and should follow the fixed interest rate guidelines to make the program more accessible.

He further directed that loan approvals for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) should be accelerated under schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, enabling entrepreneurs to access financial assistance easily.

Women Empowerment Through Credit Access

District Panchayat CEO Ms. Suruchi Singh highlighted the importance of sensitively extending loans to women entrepreneurs and SHG members. She urged bankers to assist women in availing financial benefits under government-backed credit schemes and insurance programs, ensuring maximum coverage under PMJJBY and PMSBY.

Participation and Coordination

The meeting saw participation from Lead Bank Manager Mr. Munish Sharma, representatives from Bank of Baroda, Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank, Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Barga representative Mr. Amit Mishra, NABARD official Mr. Manoj Nayak, and other banking officials.
