In a grand tribute to tradition and womanhood, the Sanatan Dharma Mahila Mandal hosted a vibrant Sawan Teej Mahotsav at Balramdas Town Hall in Sanskardhani, Rajnandgaon. The event recreated the essence of Vrindavan, with a beautifully adorned Radha-Krishna swing, devotional rituals, traditional songs, and spirited participation of women from diverse communities.

Chief Guest Dr. Varnika Sharma, Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh State Child Protection Commission, applauded the initiative, stating, “This celebration by Sanatan Dharma Mahila Mandal exemplifies the synergy between our rich cultural heritage and women’s empowerment. The active participation of women is proof that our traditions remain vibrant and relevant even today.”
Women, draped in traditional green sarees, offered prayers to Radha-Krishna and enjoyed ritualistic swinging while singing Sawan songs. As part of age-old customs, women exchanged green bangles, mehendi, and adornments—symbolizing prosperity and sisterhood.
A unique highlight was the community feast, where participants brought homemade delicacies and shared them with affection, promoting harmony and togetherness.
The program was presided over by State President of the Mandal, Mrs. Mausami Sharma, who emphasized, “Events like these enhance unity, love, and cultural pride among women.” The event also saw the gracious presence of former Mayor Mrs. Hema Sudesh Deshmukh and Mrs. Karuna Yadav, wife of Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, along with hundreds of enthusiastic women from across the district.
