Hareli Tihar, one of Chhattisgarh’s most prominent folk festivals, reflects the state’s deep connection with nature, agriculture, livestock and traditional culture. Celebrated during Shravan Amavasya, the festival features worship of agricultural implements and cattle, gedi riding, traditional games, folk competitions and traditional Chhattisgarhi cuisine.

The Rajasthan community in Rajnandgaon celebrated the traditional folk festival Bachh Baras with devotion and cultural vibrancy at Baba Ramdev Temple, where women in traditional attire performed rituals, songs, and stories to honor cows and calves.

The Sanatan Dharma Mahila Mandal organized a magnificent Sawan Teej festival at Balramdas Town Hall in Rajnandgaon, mirroring the spiritual aura of Vrindavan. With traditional dances, decorated swings, devotional fervor, and active participation of hundreds of women, the event blended faith, festivity, and cultural pride. Chief guest Dr. Varnika Sharma praised the event as a true reflection of living traditions and empowered womanhood.
