In a significant step towards women’s empowerment and self-reliance, former Chief Minister and current Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh distributed e-rickshaws to nine beneficiaries under the ‘Didi E-Rickshaw Assistance Scheme’ at the Speaker House in Rajnandgaon. The initiative, operated under the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, offers a subsidy of ₹1 lakh to women workers for purchasing e-rickshaws.
Prominent figures present at the distribution ceremony included Labour Welfare Board Chairman Yogesh Dutt Mishra and District BJP President Komal Singh Rajput.
According to information provided by the media cell, Dr. Singh interacted personally with all the beneficiaries, gathering insights about their aspirations and offering guidance on operating the e-rickshaws safely. He emphasized the importance of hard work and urged the women to utilize this opportunity to build a secure and prosperous future. Dr. Singh also advised the new e-rickshaw drivers to operate their vehicles with utmost caution.
The beneficiaries praised Dr. Raman Singh for his humble and approachable demeanor and lauded the government for launching such an impactful livelihood scheme.
Labour Officer Sanjay Singh highlighted that the ‘Didi E-Rickshaw Assistance Scheme’ has gained momentum due to the dedicated efforts of Labour Welfare Board Chairman Yogesh Dutt Mishra. He expressed special gratitude to Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Board Chairman Ram Prasad Singh for their continuous support and encouragement.
Several BJP workers, including Ramesh Patel, Rajesh Shamkar, Rajendra Jain, Radheshyam Gupta, Hakim Khan, Ginni Chawla, Raja Makheja, Bhavesh Ved, Trigun Tok, and Arun Shukla, were also present during the event.
