Union Minister and senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, while paying floral tribute at a statue of Dr. B.R. He credited this global recognition to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose guidance even the United Nations has observed Ambedkar Jayanti.

Vijayvargiya emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains committed to realizing the dreams of Babasaheb Ambedkar. He highlighted several of Prime Minister Modi’s flagship initiatives—such as women’s empowerment, social equality, and the eradication of poverty—as reflections of Ambedkar’s ideology.

He cited the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, under which free food grains were provided to the underprivileged, and the Jan Dhan Yojana, which brought over 600 million people—many of whom had never accessed a bank—into the formal banking system. He also mentioned the massive drive for affordable housing, noting that it fulfilled Ambedkar’s dream of dignified living for the marginalized.

Attack on Rahul Gandhi and Contrast in Foreign Policy

In a pointed jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Vijayvargiya criticized him for making negative remarks about India while abroad. He narrated an anecdote from the time of former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, when India faced human rights allegations on Kashmir at the United Nations.

According to Vijayvargiya, the government at the time sent a delegation led by then-Leader of Opposition Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Vajpayee staunchly defended India’s Kashmir policy, refuting the allegations. When asked by journalists why he praised the government abroad despite criticizing it in Parliament, Vajpayee responded, “I left my party flag at the office; here I carry the flag of the nation.”

Invitation to Visit Panchsheel’s First Pilgrimage Site

Concluding his address, Vijayvargiya invited all Ambedkar followers to visit “Mhow” in Madhya Pradesh, the birthplace of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He encouraged them to see the grand memorial being constructed there and described it as the first pilgrimage site of Panchsheel and a center for educational inspiration.
